Championing grassroots music since 2016 — good music for good people.

Radio Wigwam began in 2016 as a passion project between a group of Cardiff school friends, frustrated by the lack of representation for independent artists on mainstream radio. They built a station where music is judged on merit, not industry backing. The 2020 lockdown was a turning point: audiences turned to digital and Wigwam grew from a station into a community. Today we broadcast 24/7 to a global audience and on DAB in Cardiff, reaching around 400,000 listeners a month with 40 shows and 29 presenters.
We run a dual structure. WW Media Group powers the commercial side — broadcasting, the platform, subscriptions and partnerships. Grassroots Connect CIC is our community and outreach arm, running live events, artist development and grant-funded initiatives. Proceeds from live events are reinvested straight back into grassroots music.

Today's industry is dominated by streaming algorithms, making it harder than ever for emerging artists to be heard without a marketing budget. Radio Wigwam exists to fix that — we are curators, not algorithms. We give artists early exposure, connect local talent to global audiences, and support careers through airplay, events and recognition. This is not just about individual musicians; it is about sustaining the future of music itself.
