About
Alkanes are a 2 piece Raging Alternative Rock band hailing from the North of Scotland. After a number of lineup changes since the birth of the band in 2014, the passion and drive from Alkanes remains the same. Comprising of Dale Sutherland (guitar/vocals) and Connor Meeks (Drums), Alkanes draw on influences such as Biffy Clyro, Reuben, Arcane Roots, Black Peaks, Marmozets and Brutus. Their blend of emotionally driven lyrics with dynamic riffs and thunderous rhythms creates an intense performance with an energetic and raw live experience. With a debut EP previously released in 2016, Alkanes went on to release singles Sixes & Sevens, Death or Glory and Make It Right in 2019 and 2020. The year of 2020 also saw the band play their first sold out show in their hometown, Inverness just weeks before the country went into lockdown for you know what... Alkanes are now set to finally return with their brand new EP This Is It, expected May 2023. Having previously shared the stage with bands such as VUKOVI and Holding Absence, Alkanes are set to continue to pave their own path in the UK's Alternative scene.
