About
Big Hug are a London based three piece, originally from Wales and deepest darkest Gloucestershire. Taking inspiration from bands such as Husker Du, Fugazi, Rival schools and the existential dread of hitting your mid-30’s, they play a hefty brand of post-punk mixed with a touch of 90’s emo “your older sister would like”, such as Texas is the Reason and Sunny Day Real Estate. Bonding over a shared love of football, beers and cats, Big Hug formed in the summer of 2021 and played their first show at The New Cross Inn supporting Fights and Fires. Since then they’ve gone on to play some killer shows around London with the likes of Dog Heaven, and Uzumaki and recorded their first bunch of tracks at The Bookhouse studio in Bermondsey.
