About

Throughout his career, UK-based R&B/Gospel artist Bobby KP Woods has met and worked with some of the biggest names in music such as Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder who all shaped his vision of bringing uplifting soulful music to life. More recently, he performed at the NEU Midlands event as part of the National Strike on the 1st March 2023 at Town Hall, Birmingham, and is set to appear at upcoming rallies in London and other places around the UK. Already a seasoned artist, Bobby has toured extensively throughout his career bringing his characteristic, soulful gospel-influenced sound to UK and European audiences. He is set to release his new single ‘Let’s Do It’ on Saturday 17th June 2023 as a part of his upcoming album ‘The Message’ dropping later this year. ‘Let’s Do It’ tackles the heavy but prominent topics of injustice across the world, whether it’s greed, corruption or climate change and does so through a funk-infused beat and soulful vocals. With this single, the artist aims to offer a positive message, encouraging everyone to embrace love and joy to overpower negativity. The track was written by Bobby KP Woods, recorded at Blessed Studios, and engineered, mixed and mastered by Vincent Price and Wayne Mckenzie. Bobby KP Woods was exposed to the world of R&B, Gospel, and Blues from a young age and was surrounded by music growing up with both parents being musicians. Wanting to embrace his musical gifts, Bobby toured around the world as a singer-songwriter bringing his gospel sound to a wide audience which led to taking the stage at some of the most prestigious Jazz festivals in Europe such as the Montreux Jazz Festival. His efforts saw recognition as ‘Best Male Soul Singer’ at the Hummingbird Black Music Awards (a previous iteration of MOBO Awards) in 1987 and 1988. For years, he has been firmly based in Birmingham and got directly involved in the R&B/ Jazz scene of West Midlands and Black Country. For some time now, he has also been the voice of the Birmingham Jazz Festival. Determined as ever to bring joy to all through his music, ‘Let's Do It’ brings light to darkness carried forward by Bobby’s soulful vocals, infused with the messages of love and happiness that molded his songwriting. Inspired by a range of legendary acts such as Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, and Aretha Franklin, Bobby KP Woods is bringing his soulful vocals, infectiously catchy melodies, and uplifting lyricism to the masses in 2023 with ‘Let’s Do It’. With plenty of performances in the pipeline, Bobby KP Woods is set to shake the music industry up with his musical dexterity.
