About

ColdFire is a band founded in Santa Cruz do Sul-RS, Brazil, in 2012 and is based on the compositions of guitar player, Diego Neves. A music teacher and musician since the age of 15, he began writing his own compositions at the age of 17, and from then on he came into contact with musicians and friends in whom he saw competence and depth to play further the project. Jonas Germann (German), singer since the age of 17 and vocalist of numerous bands that won awards at festivals in the region, was the chosen vocalist after demonstrating interest in the compositions involved in the band's vocals. André Granzotto Gewehr, bassist, civil engineer and former member of independent bands in the region, was invited to take over the bass and also started to collaborate in the creative part of the band. The first line-up also included Matheus Schubert Costa, a drummer who was Diego's partner in independent bands in his youth, but who ended up following other professional paths. During the recording of the single “Another Way To Live”, in 2021, Heron Oliveira took over the band's drums for a brief period but gave way to Mateus Guterres in the recording of the band's latest single “A Better Place”. In the band's last 2 works, singer Camila Barrios was added to the backing vocals, performing a brilliant vocal double with Jonas Germann. ColdFire has countless influences ranging from classic rock (Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, AC/DC), to the 80s (Guns N' Roses, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Mr. Big, Extreme, Metallica, Megadeth), even more contemporary bands like Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave. It is also influenced by national music and rock such as Barão Vermelho, Titãs, Paralamas do Sucesso, Mutantes, Elis Regina, Caetano Veloso, Belchior, Pepeu Gomes, etc. In addition to art as an end in itself, the band also mixes music with historical context, social causes and sees art as playing a fundamental role in criticizing human society.
