About
Going for The One is an energetic rock mix of old-school and progressive rock with inspiration from Led Zeppelin and 90s grunge with a 2024 take. It is both raw, fragile, energetic and feminine and the music is characterized by the dynamic contrast between a hard rock core and a light-floating vocal with catchy song lines. Their concerts have been described as "a blast of soulful and energetic rock music that reaches beyond the edge of the stage". The story: Going for The One was formed in the summer of 2020 by singer and guitarist Laura Pold. Already the following year, they released their first two singles "Dear friend" and "Great escape" and played several well-attended concerts at e.g. Loppen and Stengade in Copenhagen, Denmark. In May 2022, the debut EP "Bygones" was released, which received a lot of attention and positive publicity. That same summer, the band played i.a. at the Midtfyns Festival in Denmark. The band has also been selected for Popcorn Nordic 2024, a band development academy for danish and swedish upcoming bands.
