KaiserKillers are back with a bang! Vintage Indie rockers, Kaiserkillers are prowling the boards once more. Thawed out from cryogenic suspension, with 20 minutes at gas mark 5 for good measure, the boys who originally hail from Yorkshire.are based in Essex. The KaiserKillers’ timeline has evolved through the bands: Revenge Rocker, the Isolationists and Martin’s Dad. The musical path deviated briefly as Andy put down his guitar to become a dentist, prompting Johnny to enact plan B and to become a car designer. Happily, Andy tired of sticking his fingers in people’s mouths, Johnny lay down his felt tips and the boys saw sense and returned to the path of rock and roll righteousness and rebirth as KaiserKillers. The name derives from the Kaiser Keller, where the Beatles were famously in residence in Hamburg and signifies ‘a killer set at the Kaiser Keller’. Their fifth single, Gun Crazy, was inspired by an American acquaintance of Johnny’s, who, when asked whether Connecticut’s close proximity to New York had an impact on local crime, commented that, ‘It was beginning to creep closer and that, only last week a guy from the mob had been found dead in the trunk of his car at the shopping mall.” From that sentiment, Johnny wove a story around this tragic incident of violent crime, that became Gun Crazy… indie pop duo KaiserKillers were born in the white heat of technological and social change. The fast driving punk soundtrack and its associated assault on the establishment added colour to the melodious, catchy rhythms that drive the KaiserKiller sound. Delivering PowerPopPunk of the highest order. The world-weary storytelling of the KaiserKillers lyrics, coupled with the intoxicatingly catchy melodies, combine to form perfect 3 minute pop punk masterpieces.
