About
Birthed from the womb of Covid Quarantine, MBUR burst onto the music scene with explosive energy that immediately demanded attention. Blending riff-based Jack White style with fierce Karen O attitude and music-induced trances reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, rock and roll emanates from MBURs soul. Maja Burton, a native of Austin, Texas is at the forefront of MBUR's captivating sound. Her vocals possess an intoxicating mix that could both mesmerize and inspire with every note—a spellbinding tapestry that leaves audiences awe-struck. Joining Maja are other Austin-based and immensely talented heavies that have performed with LIVE, Band of Heathens, Harry Edohoukwa, The Peterson Brothers, and Jack Burton. But MBUR's appeal extends far beyond their impressive musical prowess. Their lyrics delve into thought-provoking topics such as mental illness, war, feminism, and the experience of being an outsider. Embracing a raw and honest approach, MBUR presents their songs with an abstract coolness. The sheer intensity of their sound is enough to ignite a fire within, reminding us all why we fell in love with rock and roll in the first place.
