About

Davide Moscato, known by his stage name Mesmerising, began his music career in the late 1990s as a lounge singer, traveling to various parts of the world. In 2012, he recorded his first album, "The Golden Dawn of the Tramp," from which the single "Don't Get Wrong Your Love" and Spinning Mill, was released and later published by Seahorse Recordings. In 2016, his second studio work, "Mental Maze," was released, earning two Akademia Music Awards in Florida for the singles "Crossing the Infinity" and "From the Ashes." The video for "From the Ashes" won the LJDNRadio award for Best Pop Music Video. The video features numerous shots taken by the musician during his concerts in Manhattan and Brooklyn in November 2016, during the Mental Maze U.S. Tour. In May 2017, Davide Moscato and his band, The Flies, participated in Sanremo Rock, reaching the semifinals. In June of the same year, the singer-songwriter embarked on a short solo tour in London. In February 2017, the singles "Crossing the Infinity" and "From the Ashes" entered the Euro Indie Music Chart, staying there for about two years. In 2018, the same fate befell "Turning Away," which remained on the chart for at least a year and a half. The album received significant radio play abroad, in countries such as New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia. In 2018, Mesmerising began working on a new album with Fabio Zuffanti (bassist and artistic producer), Martin Grice (winds), Giovanni Pastorino (keyboards), Paolo Tixi (drums), and Simone Amodeo (guitar). In June 2020, "The Clutters Storyteller" (Lizard Records) was finally released, a full-length album with 10 Progressive Rock- flavored songs. The album received excellent reviews on specialized websites and magazines such as Rockerilla and Classic Rock, as well as numerous radio plays in Italy and abroad. In February 2021, the new single "L’inizio dell’ultimo quarto" was recorded at Studio 77 in Genoa by Matteo Ricci and under the supervision of Fabio Zuffanti. Two months later, the song was selected for the compilation “O Sarai Ribelle O Non Sarai!” conceived by journalist Antonello Cresti and published by Hellbones Records. In 2022, he collaborated on an artistic project by drummer Albert Taste, writing lyrics and vocal lines for the song that became "Shooting Star." In April 2023, he released a 45 RPM record with a Prog track over 7 minutes long titled "Soundscape" on side A, and an experimental and electronic track "UVB-76 4625 KHZ" on side B, in the style of early Battiato, played solely with the Korg Volca Modular. In February 2024, he released the single "Quest’alchimia" online, a song that is distinctly different from anything he had previously published. The song is a typical Pop love song, intended to show the audience how versatile his writing can be and to highlight his ability to be multifaceted in both lyrics and song form. December 2014, the single Lighting the candle written with Lee uNderwood, is the first single from the new album, ready in springtime 2025, Here and beyond.
