Nude Furniture is the brainchild of Neil Dirickson, who has recorded and released music under the name since 1998. A multi-instrumentalist, Dirickson has nearly always overdubbed all the parts himself, with some exceptions along the way...most notably on the 2010 album 'Persona Non Grata,' featuring members of Springfield, MO's The Skeletons and The Domino Kings. As of 2023, there are eight Nude Furniture albums in existence. Lou Whitney (R.I.P.) of The Skeletons once described the Nude Furniture sound as "crunchy Midwestern jangle pop," and that's pretty apt...but there are also times when traces of blues, country, rockabilly, and even avant-garde influences can be detected. As Dirickson himself has said, "It's Tulsa music that doesn't really sound that much like Tulsa music."
