About

Few bands have undergone as radical a transformation as Nottingham’s Seas of Mirth. The band arrived on the scene as an irreverent antidote to an overly-serious new folk trend in the early 2010s, gaining a reputation for raucous live shows across the UK and Europe. By their second full-length, 'Hark the Headland Approacheth' (2016), the group had begun embracing prog sensibilities, mixing 60s psychedelia with odd time signatures and flourishes of afrobeat. The critically acclaimed 'Sub Marine Dreams' followed in 2019, a new direction into the deep-sea realm which veered between space rock and college-boy funk. After recent slots at Glastonbury and Bearded Theory, the single 'Dig Out The Moves' is out 28 July and the new record is released in September. An aquatic nod to the all-time best selling album, 'Kriller' finds itself based around the movements of night owls and disco fiends roaming the underworld of a never-ending party - it might just be the bolt of neon sunshine we all need.
