About

Tojo The Dwarf started in late 2017 as a recording outlet for singer-songwriter Spencer Rixon whilst studying at university in Huddersfield. Now Liverpool-based, this project blends together a number of influences, from the dreamy-indie-pop sounds of Alvvays, the melodic shoegaze-inspired sound of Pity Sex, the quirky indie sound of Pavement and the laid back vibes of Mac Demarco, with some grungier influences for good measure. To date Tojo The Dwarf has several releases behind him, including Living In A Time Capsule a 5 track EP, the 2018 singles Indications and Sad Eva, alongside 2019's cover of Camper Van Beethoven's The Day That Lassie Went To The Moon. 2020 saw the return of Tojo with two singles, Cool Young Death and For The Love Of The Void, two singles about the dangers of trying to impress everyone you meet. These singles are from the forthcoming EP 'Asthenopia', which is to be released mid-to-late 2022. This 7-track EP is a combination of everything Spencer has learned so far, with each of the tracks blending together to create one seemless suite of music.
