About
Wurlitzer are a band formed in Birmingham. With a skip-full of sugary melodies in tow, obscure lyrics that make the unimportant and mundane sacrosanct; the band are well placed to fill your brain with earworms. Not scared to stray away from standard guitar based rock music; the band often incorporates a bunch of instruments in each song including glockenspiels, trumpets, flutes and stylophones amongst others. The band has two members, simple DIY videos and a straight to the point lo-fi indie sound that has drawn influence from acts like Oberhofer, Tokyo Police Club and Tubelord + a healthy serving of mid 00's indie chucked in for good measure. When in a live setting Wurlitzer boast a 7-piece band filled with multi-instrumentalists who swap instruments from song to song, providing a blast of entertainment and well practiced professionalism; showing similarities to Arcade Fire, The Oh Hellos + Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
