About
Mike Moss is a singer-songwriter and producer from Greater Manchester, making rock-influenced emotive pop with heartfelt lyrics, strong melodies and anthemic choruses. Drawing on a wide range of influences — from the rock clubs of Manchester to classic pop, alternative rock, electronic music and singer-songwriter craft — Mike has built a sound that sits somewhere between emotional directness and widescreen production. His debut album, Cold World Plastic Dream, earned strong reviews and drew comparisons to artists such as David Bowie, Muse and U2. Built around sharp melodies, layered arrangements and honest lyricism, the album introduced Mike as an independent artist with a distinctive voice and a refusal to sit neatly inside one genre. He followed it with the EP Start with Love, and Forgive the Rest, recorded between Manchester and Brooklyn, New York. The project saw Mike collaborate with musicians and producers including Myke Wilson, Mike Jones, Naomi Shead, Steve Boyce-Buckley and Brooklyn-born producer Robbie G, further developing a sound that blended contemporary rock, pop, electronic textures and heartfelt songwriting. Over the years, Mike has headlined his own shows, supported acts including The Futureheads and Kid British, reached No.2 in the UK University Student Radio Chart, and received radio play across the UK and US, including multiple appearances on BBC Radio and BBC Introducing. After several years away from releasing music, including time spent rebuilding his voice after COVID, Mike now returns with a new EP, Was It Love?, set for release in 2026. The first single, This Place, is a song about home, leaving, starting again, and finding the courage to turn and face the music once more. It marks the beginning of a new chapter: more focused, more honest, and rooted in the kind of songs that stay with you.
