About
After four years of playing venues around Cardiff at open mics and gigs including prominent venues The Moon and Cardiff University’s Student Union, indie rock artist Pat Brooks finally releases his debut single ‘Crossroads’ and EP ‘The Night Is Now’! Receiving great reception to his original music at gigs, his five track EP including his debut single ‘Crossroads’ is available on all major streaming platforms from the 13th of June! Written during lockdown back home in Exeter, the EP is driven by upbeat guitar lines and moving lyrics creating an uplifting sound which especially comes to life when played live. Starting off with the raucous title track ‘The Night Is Now’ before delving into the upbeat ‘Win Or Lose it All’, the tracks were ordered to take the listener on a journey. This proceeds to the only completely acoustic track ‘Colour Of The Clown’ before building to the finale with the classic indie track ‘Day Is Mine’. The anthemic coming of age track ‘Crossroads’ then brings the EP to an epic close. This EP has the potential to offer something for every listener with the variety of tracks, from the heavier indie rock ‘The Night Is Now’ to the indie pop ‘Win Or Lose It All’ then to the acoustic ballad tones of ‘Colour Of The Clown’ and indie anthems of ‘Day is Mine’ and ‘Crossroads’. The Ep channels many of Pat’s influences including Oasis, Queen and Bowie as well as modern influences like Arctic Monkeys and Sam Fender. It would appeal to fans of various genres of indie and rock with the blend of electric, acoustic and 12 string guitars characterising this EP.
