About
Hailing from GOZO, the land of the Megalithic Temples in the heart of the Maltese archipelago, UPPER LIP is a captivating force in groove-infused Hard Rock. Their main influences draw mostly from 70’s and 80’s Classic Rock icons like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Rory Gallagher but also from bands like The Smiths, Captain Beyond and even Waylon Jennings. Since their inception in 2013, the band has played several gigs and festivals on the islands to a very warm aclaim from Rock music fans which swiftly translated into more concerts throughout the years. Fast-forward to 2019, the band embarked on a massive project to record their first studio album at the iconic ‘Temple Studios’ home for many prolific bands and producers (Rammstein, Philip Boa, Mike Hedges, Siouxsie and the Banshees etc). The album's 11 tracks embody their infectious groove and energetic spirit. Released in May 2021, 'Deep Within' earned acclaim locally and internationally.
